Steak & Herb Salsa with Grilled Potato & Poblano Salad

My block, we made the impossible look easy, for sheezy. Well that's not true. This wasn't impossible. It was actually quite easy. But, I'm still in that early 2K's rap mood, that and NIN is still on workout repeat but Trent runs a little deep for my food posts. I expected this meal to have drama and tears, I was wrong and now it is written in perpetuity that I was wrong so I can't deny it. It was EASY to get the Natives to eat this. Believe or not they ate the veggies before the steak. I did not make them eat the chimichurri sauce on their steaks...but it was totally in that potato poblano salad lol.
Grill was definitely on high, but I think I didn't let is sit long enough to reheat after grilling the potatoes so I didn't get that really nice dark sear that I prefer. Still wasn't horrible though. I used a vegetable grill basket with the onions, just left the peppers on the grates because my basket is small and not very open enough to get a beautiful char. I thought the potatoes would be fine on the grates but I kept having to fish them out from the drip pan (which is mostly clean...ish). I do really like grilling. Sometimes I forget how calming it can be to listen to the crickets and frogs as the sun starts to set, sometimes I pull out the bluetooth speaker and jam out a bit while I sip a wine or a beer and just let the day pass away. I think I may need to add to my grilling accessories if I start grilling more, either that or my neighbors should expect a lot of cussing as I burn myself setting and flipping veggies. If I were a fortune teller I'd say I see an expandable flex grill basket in my future. Just sayin.
I went back to check my facebook and instagram rating of this meal and realized...it never made it there! So this is a blog exclusive rating lol. Seeing as all of the residents of the cave enjoyed fully, there weren't any crazy cooking snafus, and it got us outdoors...
Rated a FULL gallon of ice cold Milos
On my block, I wouldn't trade it for the world.
